Calling all schools!

Our #beconnected2025 campaign is to encourage everyone to talk about loneliness, share stories, explore ways to find new connections and join fun activities to support our work.

The campaign is open to everyone, with activities for all. For schools, on a chosen day students can:
- Donate £1 to BEfriend in exchange for wearing their own clothes.
- Be encouraged to perform an act of connection during the day.
- Be encouraged to get talking about loneliness, share their stories and explore ways to find new connections.
The campaign could be the focal point for students to raise money in other ways, just let us know what you have in mind and we will adapt to suit your needs.
For schools that would prefer not to hold an ‘own clothes day’ we have alternative activities. For example, students can:
- donate £1 to ‘wear something blue’ and perform an act of connection during the day
- hold a cake sale
- hold a second hand book sale (£1 each)
- do a sponsored cycle ride
If your students have other suggestions, let us know and we’ll tailor promotional material to suit.

For primary schools, we have activities geared to the age group.
We have a set of resources to download for use in school activities and for publicity and promotion on social media. We can even supply bespoke campaign material – just let us know what you need!
Our experienced presenters can give an Assembly talk about our work as a local charity providing volunteer befriending for people who are socially isolated.
BEfriend – the perfect choice for schools!
- We are a local charity tackling loneliness.
- We offer assembly talks about loneliness and our work in the community.
- We can supply bespoke promotional material adapted to your requirements.
- We make things easy by collating the best material from other sources.
- We’ll promote the campaign and give ‘shout outs’ to your school on social media.
- We’ll award you a certificate on completion.

But #BeConnected2025 isn’t just for schools – it’s for everyone who wants to make a difference!
Whether you’re planning a garage sale, a murder-mystery evening, a sponsored walk, or even training for a marathon, there are countless ways to get involved and help raise funds.
You might be part of a community group or a workplace giving scheme. However you choose to take part, your support helps us tackle loneliness and build meaningful one-to-one connections across Ealing and Hounslow.
